My fave. Don't know why. Just is.

I got one slice of cheese pizza and the chicken roll. The pizza was good, thin, and nothing spectacular. The chicken roll was huge and filled with chicken and cheese. The roll was very filling and good. Also the guys who work there were very friendly and helpful.

This pizza shop offer plenty of variety and large slices, but I was disappointed in my slice. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular since I got pepperoni, but the sauce lacked flavor and it was only lukewarm. Still, it was a good value and a decent meal.

Ordered the wings, garlic rolls, and a 16" half Hawaiian half pepperoni and sausage. The pizza was nice and cheesy with plenty of meat. The garlic rolls needed a bit more garlic. The wings tastes like normal buffalo wings you can get at any restaurant.

This is my first review on yelp. I have been to this place and enjoyed the pizza. I usually go to italian village on 1st ave and east 80 st. I have been going there for years and am rarely disappointed. I wanted a whole pie so I thought I would try Lagos new place ! Mistake! I asked for a meatball hero, large salad and whole pie , half black olive , half mushroom. And asked if he could leave one bit of the pie with nothing on it. He told me no he was too busy for that. And I waked out. I'm too busy for them and they don't need my business. Moral: stick to a sure thing, if you are looking for good pizza, good customer service and quality go to italian village 1526 1st avenue.

Our faithful standby. Great regular pie, exactly what you want in a thin crust, sweet sauce, cheesy pizza. Attentive, competent crew. Clean, fast, reliable. Yum.

The store is nice and clean, great display of pizza. The pizzas all have hefty toppings and look delish, had a hard time choosing. The slices are pretty big so it's worth the few dollars. The crust is nice and thin and crispy. I asked for a mushroom slice and the guy just put some raw mushrooms on a plain slice and put it in the oven. When I got my slice, the mushrooms were all still raw :( bit of a disappointment.

Stopped in to grab some quick dinner, ordered a Chicken Parm grinder and it was AWESOME! Great price for the size of the grinder, and the cutlets used in the grinder were fantastic. Quick service as too!

Congratulations, Lunetta, for offering the best (and only) vegan bruschetta I found on my trip to New York. Fresh ingredients---cut tomatoes, onions, and garlic---were sublime over a crispy yet thick crust. Keep up the wonderful work and offer more vegan options! I went out of my way to have this bruschetta again today before flying home. Only drawback was a way too mouthy server, but he was not there last time. Ha ha! I also liked the price and quick in and out fast food service in a fun east side location.

I ordered for about 18 people delivery. 1. the guy who answered and took my delivery order was VERY friendly and nice (which usually doesn't happen in pizza joints) 2. there WERE some minor problems however by voicing my concern he more than made up for it and solved my problems. 3. Ordered the 30$ salad which is for about 10-15 people, it was FANTASTIC. olives peppers cherry tomatoes, romaine NOT iceberg lettuce. it was awesome. 4. the pizza, crust is not too thick but not brick oven thin crust either it was perfect, the flavor was on point and used fresh abundant veggies. The meat lovers was great too and so was the buffalo chicken. Overall everyone who ate it was extremely happy and the quality was very good. I will order again. ;-)

I ordered lunch from this restaurant to try out some of their items before I used them for a larger party. Everything was really good. Penne ala Vodka and a side of meatballs was huge and yummy. I called late in the afternoon on a Saturday and ordered trays of food, chicken wings, penne ala vodka and chef salad and it was delivered in time and tasted wonderful. Mike took my order and was extremely professional and helpful. So reasonable in price for the portion and taste of food.

soooooooooo goodddddd. My two coworkers said this place was better than the famous Joe's pizza. So I went straight to Lunetta after work today. The pizza crust and bread part doesn't get soggy at all! We took 3 slices of chicken marsala, mushroom margherita, margherita to-go, and walked down 3 blocks on a rainy day. Each slice was still crispy, neither did it get soggy from oil or in the humid weather. The pizza was thin, the pizza toppings were abundant, not dripping in oil, huge slices bigger than my face, cheap. What more can you ask for?? Definitely so far the best pizza join in the UES. The guy who took our order was funny and full of energy too-it def wants me to come back again even more. Good, funny service is always a plus!

Legitimately a little confused about the lack of 5-star reviews. Lunetta is *literally* the best pizza place on planet Earth. There is a gravitational force that draws me in, which cannot be resisted under most circumstances. CRUCIAL edit: Lunetta is indubitably superior to Pizza Beach

I've ordered from this place in the past and it's been a decent experience. But this past weekend, we ordered a half veggie half pepperoni pizza, or so we believed; and whoever took our order also believed that was what we ordered as that's what our receipt said. Our pizza arrived as half cheese half veggie, that sucked, so we called the restaurant hoping a level of customer service would take place... it did not at all. They offered to exchange the pizza, but we had already started eating the veggie side, so then they said there was nothing they could do. After getting loud with them they stuck to it and decided we weren't worth it as customers... My friend decided to call back and insisted on speaking with a manager. He gave her a hard time as well tried to offer her a discount for next time... Eventually he agreed to bring us 4 pieces of pepperoni, not a small pizza, but 4 slices, when they arrived they were 2 slices cut into 4 pieces. We called back to ask if they really gave us 2 pieces split in half, they said, "True we did, we're busy and HUNG UP THE PHONE ON US." So I will NOT be dealing with there rudeness and utter lack of decent customer service. Which is unfortunate because they are pretty close, and decent pizza.

I wouldn't get delivery from here. It takes a while and in my experience the food is usually cold-ish. That being said, I do love the pizza slices here. The chicken is usually moist, and it doesn't taste like it's been sitting out all day. I really love the chicken bacon ranch slice. I LOVE the grandma slice with bruschetta. So fresh and tasty. And filling for only $3.25. This is a great spot for specialty pizzas. They have plain slices as well, but also buffalo chicken (good), BBQ chicken, chicken francese, Caesar salad, and grandma slices. Just stop in, you'll probably like it. They're open late, and the people who work there during the day are nice.

I had to knock a star off my review. We ordered pizza with the whole wheat crust and boy was that a mistake! It was heavy and mealy. Totally felt bloated after a few bites. The hubby and I couldn't finish our food. My daughters wouldn't touch it. We know for next time to stay with the traditional crust and avoid the whole wheat crust.

  • Michelle S.

This is my new lunch spot in the neighborhood. They have a lot of great varieties of pizza. I just wish they had a better special than 2 plain slices for $5. I mean at least throw in a soda or a water!

Quality pizza place finally comes to this area of Yorkville. Plain slice is a solid A-, and they have a wide selection of specialty slices, rolls, calzones, subs, burgers, cheesesteaks, salads, pasta, and Italian entrees. Enthusiastic staff. And the background music threatens to bring you back to the 80s.

Imagine: an artisanal crust topped with the finest blend of fresh mozzarella with the sweetest hint of parmigiano reggiano, glazed in a hint of the finest extra virgin olive oil that would suit even the most refined palettes. Now, take that image and yourself over to Park Avenue and stay out of my pizza joint. Lunetta is not fancy. It is not artisanal. It is simply a super-solid slice of New York Style pizza. One of the best in the area. And their cheesesteak wraps are also greasily delicious. Pretty much everything I've had at Lunetta is good. If you want fancy, move out to Long Island or something, and stop ruining my city, yuppie. If you want a great slice of unpretentious pizza, go to Lunetta.

  • Sriram I.

Pizza sauce different compared to the last time I ordered - OVERLY salty and the cheese on the right side of the pizza was just sliding off (no wonder the delivery guy was walking away as soon as I got the pizza w/o waiting around for a tip). Would not order from here again.

First time coming here after reading reviews on yelp. I'm a native new Yorker and have been eating pizza in new York for over 20 years. This place has one of the best pizza slices in new York city and at affordable prices (2.50 for plain slice). You can't go wrong coming here if you want a good slice of pizza!!

    (5)
  • Jacky D.

The best part about this place is all of the ready-made pizza options they have waiting for you. Meat options, veggie options, white pizza, standard pizza... whatever you want, it's most likely waiting for you. Other than that, it's a pretty standard NYC pizza place! Very casual, no table service, just a by-the-slice, neon-lights, get your bottle of coke out of the refrigerator kind of place.

Fast delivery always, Food is always fresh . Cheap food for the city . Very friendly very nice , love the place

Their variety of pizzas soo delicious no other place like this in The City. if you are around then try them you will fall in love with their pizzas. Buffalo chicken is my favorite and their orange cream soda I came before and their pasta spaghetti plate is soo delicious you will like it. Great costumer service!

  • Dave B.

Lunetta is our go-to pizza/pasta spot. When they first opened, we were skeptical as all of the other pizza joints around the UES offered mediocre excuses for pizza. The food here is amazing, affordable, and probably laced with some sort of addictive additive to get you to come back. On one of our later visits, we gave the spaghetti a shot. Now it's pretty much all I get! The staff is friendly & efficient. The food is primo. What more could you ask for?

    (5)
  • Asena B.

Great Pizza and phenomenal hot chicken wings! This is our favorite pizza place on the UES. And staff are really great. You really can't go wrong here.

3.5 because 2/3 of my order was good! I was really craving a good plate of spaghetti and meat sauce. I came across Lunetta Pizza, and saw some pretty good reviews. Thank goodness I went with my gut and ordered delivery from them because their spaghetti was amazing! The meat sauce on the spaghetti was very hearty and chunky... perfect flavor and spaghetti had the perfect firmness to it. The portion size was very generous for 8.75! Pretty great steal! I also ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza (3.25) and their buffalo wings (6.50). The pizza was ok, however their wings arrived cold... I got pretty turned off by that. Delivery time was pretty quick, and on time. I will definitely order from here again!

  • Thomas D.

This place is just awful, I feel bad for any tourist that comes to NYC expecting good New York pizza and gets this. Aside from the fact that the slices were super thin over cooked and had almost no flavor I felt sick for about six hours after. If I had to pick between the construction on second avenue being finished or this place closing down I would choose the latter. Maybe I'll be less grumpy when I don't feel like I'm going to throw up. Oh and it's getting two stars and not one because the employees were nice and the service was good.

  • Hope S.

I was here today and was in rush. Ordered a slice of pizza with mushrooms, couple minutes later was ready. Nice place I would come back if I'm around. Keep the great work guys as nearby pizza is really far beyond the good.

Just opened! Stopped in for a quick slice .lots of pies to choose from,so I decided on a slice of buffalo chicken along with some garlic knots .slice was great, enough to share even! Garlic knots were fresh and soft! Decor is modern, restaurant is clean.folks working there are very friendly.stop by and try a slice from what seems to be a much needed pizzeria in the area and will be my new neighborhood pizzeria.i definitely want to try their penne a la vodka pizza and dinner entree!

  • Jennifer O.

I love this place way too much. I may be biased because I live half a block away and this is the closest pizza, but it's always delicious and they're super friendly. Huge selection of pies by the slice (my faves are plain, margherita and eggplant parm), and the garlic knots and french fries are great as well. It's not the cheapest but it's reasonable for the area. They're also open super late which is nice. The only bad experience I've had is one time when I ordered delivery (yes, from half a block away...no shame) and it took FOREVER. I tried to cancel more than once, but was told they were on the way...long story short they never came and I still got charged which was annoying). I don't really need to be ordering delivery from here though, so I don't really mind.

This is the tastiest pizza I have tried on the Upper East Side! The two slices I had were absolute heaven. I had to restrain myself from getting a second round!

  • David B.

I love Luigi's, right down the street from me, but unfortunately, their hours suck and Luigi's is not hip to online ordering at all. I've had delivery issues with Luigi's--so I've sought out other options. Lunetta is a little further, but they deliver quick. I don't like their slices as much as Luigi's, but they're still very good, as are their pasta dishes. Tonight I ordered Tortellini primavera with grilled chicken and it's delicious.

Good cost / flavor ratio for the Upper East Side.

    (5)
  • John P.

Nice thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients... mushrooms, spinach, basil...helped to overcome my hesitation about the pre-made pies behind the glass.

Good food, good price, nice employees. Solid four star, and if some things are tweaked, has potential for growth.

    (4)
  • Jim C.

Nice clean establishment. Very reasonably priced and the pizza was great! I got a white slice and a buffalo chicken slice. Both exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended for a casual slice of za.

Much needed pizza joint, very friendly people, clean and colorful--great ambience. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was beautiful. Can't wait to go back.

Great place ...wide selections of pizzas came here for lunch picked up a grandma and pasta slice and a ranch slice for my boss good price friendly staff must come

  • Jacob A.

Walked the half mile east after a day at the Guggenheim and Met. My daughters each cleared 2 slices. The pizzas were fresh and there was an incredible variety to choose from. Good value and the staff was great. I'll be back for sure.

    (5)
  • Ty C.

I had a couple slices on the way back from central park and the pepperoni and mushroom slice was delicious!! Lots of mushrooms and they were fresh. All of the slices that they had looked and smelled really good. I'm normally not used to paying $4.50 a slice, but I guess that might be what they run for in NY. If you are in the area this is probably your best bet. I did a yelp search for the area I was in and this one came up with good reviews and I gave it a try based on that. Give them a try.

Crispy/doughy crust, proper sauce and fresh ingredients. Good effing pizza.

Came to New York City for a day trip with the family and stopped at Lunetta for a quick dinner. The place is excellent with really friendly service and an amazing variety of pizza choices. Excellent value for the money ... Definitely would come back.

  • Larry W.

Grand opening for about 2 month. Very fast for delivery, good choice for party or sports afternoon!

    (5)
  • The H.

I like to eat pizza, not smell like it. If you stay longer than 5 minutes you will reek of pizza/garlic and whatever else they throw in the oven. Why? Because they are too cheap to fix the vent. Also, no air conditioning in the summer. Again, too cheap. The pizza is mediocre.

    (1)
  • Nate R.

Five stars because it is way better than the three point five it has. The thin crust pizza was raved about and devoured by my family. There's gluten free pizza that I didn't try because it was to big. (12") I had the chicken picata and subbed sauteed broccoli for the pasta. It came with roasted garlic. Awesome ! If you're in this neighborhood you won't regret the trip.

    (5)
  • Lauren B.

Great pizza place! I'm so happy this place just opened around the corner from our apartment! I've been waiting for a place that actually serves good pizza and salad nearby. The only thing is that I hAve been several time when they don't have Pepperoni made... It's extremely popular, I don't know why they wouldn't always have an extra in hand. Oh well, even so, the wait is less than 15 minutes. Still awesome!

    (5)
  • Jordan M.

This is really a good pizza place. It has completely become my "go-to" guilty pleasure. The chicken parm slice and the chicken with bacon and ranch slices are great. The BBQ Chicken not so much. The white pizza is also really good. Good value. Smooth service.

    (5)
  • John P.

The slices are ok, nothing special, and overpriced relative to the competition. Also, there is an up charge for using a credit card which they don't tell you about (no signage either).

    (2)
  • Zac H.

$ 2.50 for a HUGE slice of cheese pizza. New York Pizza can do no wrong. Quick and easy ordering. I'll be back.

    (4)
  • James D.

Great pizza. Best in the neighborhood. Toppings and cheese are in good portions. Crust could be a little better, if there's any room for improvement. Wings are par - fatty, not great chicken meat. Sauce is fairly hot. Stick with the pizza.

    (4)
  • Kelly D.

Sooo what this neighborhood needed...all the other pizza nearby sucks! I stopped in on my way he from work for a quick slice...lots of FRESH options. I hate going into a pizza joint where all the pies look as they've been sitting out for hours. I opted for the chicken Marsala slice...amazing!!! Looks like they have other good non pizza options too. Will definitely be back.

  • Ranet L.

Worse experience EVER ! We called in for a delivery last night at 1am. I gave my address & everything, this guy said OK 25mins. After half an hour he called back to say they can't deliver becuz we are too far (2 miles). WOW really ? Well, after 15 mins he called again & said that they will deliver if we can wait another 15 mins, which I said its fine. Another 45 mins past I called to see where my pizza at he said 2 mins... it's 3am and NO delivery! !! If you can't deliver then be up front and STOP PLAYING GAMES. !!!!!!

    (1)
  • Heather F.

Sorry Lunetta but your food is only as good as your service and thus far-IT SUCKS. I placed an order one hour and 15 minutes ago and still nothing. I called twice and was told 5-10 min ago-that was 25 min ago. I ordered two rolls, nothing complicated & your three blocks away so no excuse whatsoever. I'm so over delivery places making promises they can't keep-especially when I could have gone with 30 other places tonight. Suck it Lunetta.

    (1)
  • Sam G.

If you have the patience to tolerate possibly the worst phone service on the UES and wait at least 20 minutes longer than whatever delivery time they quote you, this could be some of the best pizza in New York. It is unfortunate that service and delivery issues detract from such a good product. Four stars on the food, maybe 4.5, 1.0 on the service, at best.

    (3)
  • Li B.

I've ordered from here twice through seamless. The first experience was fine - fast delivery, good food, but the second time they delivered late and the food was pretty bad. I ordered two slices of pizza and both were dry and tasted like they had been sitting out for a while, then reheated too long to overcompensate. Not fresh at all. Very disappointing.

    (2)
  • Giovanni T.

Have ordered delivery a few times since my initial review. Delivery is hit or miss, they forget a few things here and there like dressing and drinks, and we have to call back and wait, it's a joke. The sandwiches are still really good, but definitely skip the onion rings, so disappointed. You get like 10 craptastic little frozen onion rings that you buy in the supermarket, with some marinara sauce for $4 --- pass on them.

    (3)
  • Laura A.

Never have I ever had a "pizza obsession". Until now. Since I had my first slice of white pizza there, I have ordered delivery way more than I care to admit. Everytime I order, I get a white slice and a margarita slice. Both are to die for. Delivery time always says 30-45 minutes but comes within twenty every single time. I did actually visit the establishment once, and it was very clean and the guys behind the counter were extraordinarily friendly. So happy to have a place like this that delivers, tastes delish and is wallet friendly. Lunetta- please stick around!!!

    (5)
  • Kayte A.

Good slice of white pizza ($3.25) but a little dry, great slice of pepperoni ($3.25). Definitely the kind of pizza you have to fold in half, and expect grease to drip out the bottom - aka New York style. Will happily return

    (4)
  • Christina P.

The prices are great here, and though I was sad to see Sunny go, I quickly become a Lunetta fan! Chicken rolls are my faves! I am happy any day I don't have to spend $16 at Eli's on lunch since I work between the two places. The staff are friendly and turn over seems to be low, as I've seen many of the same faces since they opened. It's so nice to go in and be recognized and recognize the workers who I've developed a comfortable familiarity with.

    (5)
  • Mindy M.

If something just isn't great, I don't go out of my way to complain. However, I felt sick after eating here as another reviewer commented. They probably keep the slices too long. Beware.

    (2)
  • Diana B.

Good, not unusual, mushroom pizza slice. P.S. Bad digestive disturbances that night. Loses one star.

    (3)
  • Hannah A.

Delicious late night pizza. Many options, fresh pies and take credit cards (5$ minimum)

    (5)
  • Courtney Y.

The upper eastside can be a tricky place to find late night food, but I discovered lunetta's tonight, and I couldn't be happier! First of all, the establishment itself is bright, clean, and inviting. I didn't stay to eat, but I certainly will in the future, since it's spacious with plenty of tables and seats. The staff was beyond nice, too, helping me choose the best slices and even giving me extra marinara sauce on the house. And last but certainly not least, the pizza was superb. I had a mushroom and broccoli slice (delightful!) and a baked ziti slice, both of which hit the spot. Some baked ziti pizzas are actually overloaded, but this one was the perfect balance of soft pizza crust, pasta, tomato sauce, and ricotta; every bite was better than the last. In short, late night or not, I can't wait to go back to lunettas for seconds :)

  • Martha M.

I really wanted to like this place, as the UES has a lack of quality pizza places. I ordered a personal pizza with bacon and spinach. I was expecting fresh, sautéed spinach, but the spinach on this pizza was frozen and tasted fishy. Gross, right? There was also A LOT of tomato sauce--it overpowered all the other ingredients. Disappointing.

    (2)
  • Rene M.

Not bad at all. If you're a thin crust fan, you should like. Crust is tender and thin, but it's missing the magic crunch that would make this all star quality. Sauce is pretty good, slightly above average. Cheese is pretty basic. Good proportions of each ingredient (very important). They have a lot of different varieties, which I didn't try. Maybe next time.

    (4)
  • Ms. L.

DEEEEE-LICIOUS!! Best by the slice pizza I've had on the upper east side. Margherita is my favorite.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE REALLY DISGUSTEING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE OWNER REFUSED TO REPLACE OUR FOOD WAS SO UNBELIEVABLY NASTY!!!!!!!!!! HE TOLD MY HUSBAND AND I HE WOULD NOT REPLACE OUR FOOD OR GIVE US ANY REFUND. HE TOLD US HE DIDN'T CARE AS HE HAS LOTS OF CUSTOMERS AND HE CAN LOSE ONE OR TWO HE HAS LOTS!!!!!!!!!!!. My husband and myself and handicapped daughter were staying in a near by hotel and ordered delivery. We ordered the Margarita pizza , french fries, mozz sticks and a side of meatballs. The pizza was old and the cheese was melted to nothing it was obvious that it was old and just re heated and the tomato sauce which had so much sugar in it was just dumped on top to cover up the pizza being old. The french fries were so greasy that the grease was pouring off them when you picked one up. The Mozz sticks were warm and an under done light beige color. The meatballs were rounded chopped meat no flavor at all. When we called and complained about the food they stated they would replace the food and it would be about 30 minutes. 40 minutes later there is a knock at our hotel door and the guy says he is the owner and wants to see the food! So we handed him all the food that was placed back in there containers and back in the bag it came it. He takes the food and put in on the floor of the hallway and starts opening up all the bags and boxes. He then calls someone at the restaurant and tells him 2 pieces of pizza are missing. Now the whole time we are standing there watching this unprofessional display with our jaw dropped. THE OWNER THEN SAYS HE IS NOT REPLACEING THE FOOD AND when we said just refund our money THE OWNER NASTYLY REPLAYS THAT HE IS NOT REFUNDING ANY PORTION OF OUR MONEY! My daughter is handicapped and takes a lot of seizure medication so we can not give her her meds until she has eaten. When we explained this the the owner he just shrugged. We have been in the restaurant business for 30 years we own 4 restaurants in New Orleans and I have never ever ever come across a man that is so arrogant and down right nasty. My husband had to run out and pick up some food very quickly. There are hundreds of places to get pizza this restaurant is not one of them . It is a disgrace and that men who came to our hotel room could not have been any nastier

    (1)
  • L. J.

I work in the area and I always go here for pizza, calzones and/or salads. Each time the food has been delicious and made with quality ingredients (good sauce, substantial chef's salad, etc...). There are other italian/pizza places that I can stop at that are closer and more convenient for me, but after discovering Lunetta, I'm willing to walk a little further.

  • alissa s.

This is a great new addition to the upper east side..There really are not many good pizza places in this area. They have a good varitey of pizza and other dishes and prices are reasonable. The vodka slice is especially yummy. Definitely try it out if you want good pizza in the E 80s.
